How MOWA works
In the first patient appointment certified CPOs use the MOWA App on an iPad to analyze the patient`s condition. The app guides CPOs through a structured measurement protocol and manual gait analysis, assessing factors such as muscle status, range of motion, spasticity levels, and others.
The collected data allows to draw important biomechanical conclusions and influence orthosis design. Taking this complexity into account in the orthosis is what has made proper treatment so difficult and experience-dependent up to now.
The MOWA AI evaluates the individual gait deficit and provides the CPO in real-time with the ideal orthosis configuration.
The modular orthosis consists of a carbon spring, carbon sole, a 3D printed cuff and sandal as well as a handful of standard parts. At the end of the first patient appointment the patient chooses colors and patterns, the CPO checks the configuration and directly orders the custom MOWA orthosis.
During the second patient visit, the MOWA orthosis is fitted into the shoe and handed over to the patient. Thanks to the modular design, CPOs can easily react to patient changes or orthosis damages by replacing components anytime anywhere tool-free.
